Can This Group of Voters Impact The Blue Wave?
The U.S. midterm elections are approaching and if you’re like me, you’re anxious and addicted to Twitter. Many believe there are several populations that will impact this critical election: first-time, women, Hispanic, millennial, Black, and various minority voters. Needless to say, the #BlueWave movement is highly dependent on the aforementioned voters to flip the house.
There may be another critical population that will help fortify the blue wave, the flipping Republicans.
The man responsible for a viral thread of Thank You tweets to Republicans voting blue and the increasingly popular and trending #GOPVotingBlue and #GOPVoteBlue hashtags is Activist Ryan Knight also known as the @ProudResister. The hashtags and tweets from GOP voters are glimpses of hope for Democrats, besides the record-breaking early voter turnouts in various key states, of course.
Stories of lifelong and loyal Republicans voting blue and registering as Democrats for the first time go on and on.
Not only are these GOP voters swinging left, they are convincing their friends and families to do the same.
Gratitude and excitement greet GOP voters who “come out” and place country over party, even a few thanks from celebrities.
The recurring themes for hardcore Republicans voting blue are their disgust of Trump’s hateful rhetoric, the administration’s abuse of power and lack of accountability, and their disappointment of the Republican Party in general.

Do you see Democrats flipping and voting red? Highly unlikely. This is certainly an advantage only the blue team can boast and we welcome any and all from now until November 6th, 2018.
