LAFW Blends Culture and Couture

Los Angeles Fashion Week, held at the Petersen Automotive Museum from October 8th through 12th, was a spectacle of international talents, established and emerging.

Noe Bernacelli opened the show with exquisite gowns with intricate beadings and made for the red carpet. The Peruvian designer studied fashion in Italy and moved back to Peru to start his international brand.

Renim Project highlighted Thai culture with blue collar chic in his collection of contemporary menswear. The young visionary designer was one of Thailand’s fashion creatives debuted in the US for the first time with the assistance of the Royal Thai Consulate.

Coral Castillo brought beauty and refinement with carefully crafted dresses in elegant black and white and fine fabrics. Her work has been published in VOGUE Italia and UK. The young designer from Mexico City was honored with the prestigious Moss Adams Award at LAFW.

SALISA Official combined sophistication and sleekness effortlessly with her soft hues and feminine silhouettes. The NYC-inspired label and designer, Salisa Cheewapansri, was another proud talent from Thailand.

Tako Mekvabidze closed LAFW with a bang showcasing a colorful collection with fun structures and feathery frills. The Georgian designer’s process pays homage to the culturally rich city she grew up in.
