The Statement Shows at NYFW
New York Fashion Week just wrapped and there were incredible shows that, as usual, set the most coveted trends for spring and summer 2020.
Brandon Maxwell
Brandon Maxwell brought the supermodels and the house down this season at NYFW. Bella Hadid, Irina Shayk, Candice Swanepoel, Grace Elizabeth, Stella Maxwell, and Emily DiDonato twirled down the runway in blazers, slouchy jeans, and button-downs in elevated fabrics — a leap away from his typical evening frocks. Maxwell also debuted his menswear collection featuring expertly tailored fashion.
Sally LaPointe
Those who know me, know how much I love monochrome styling. Sally LaPointe rolled out a plush orange carpet at NYFW and models adorned modern monochrome ensembles and asymmetrical silhouettes. Celebrating the modern woman, Sally LaPointe’s SS20 collection was packed full of pieces that are ready to wear and totally easy to covet. You can shop the runway and her resort looks here.
Elie Tahari
Besides monochromatic looks, 70s-inspired designs make me swoon. Inspired by the vibes of 1970s Soho, Elie Tahari’s collection at NYFW was an ode to The City That Never Sleeps. The textures and patterns evoke a vibe that contrasts urban with artistic, lighting the stage with a vibrancy that can only be described as “New York.”
