The international fashion designer and atelier powerhouse has designed for famous women globally and continues to enjoy creating couture for fearless and feminine fashionistas as he calls them Women Warriors.

Where do you look for creative inspiration?

Music, I believe, stimulates creativity in its early stages, and I find inspiration in women around the world who are juggling their professional and personal lives while remaining strong and firm in their beliefs. Women are the toughest warriors on the planet, and they have been a huge influence on my career.

Is it hard to stay creative season after season?

Yes, it is difficult to stay current and outperform previous collections because the expectations that people have after each collection continue to rise, so the pressure is constant, but it is a motivating factor and that's what drives me to create better concepts from scratch.

Do you have a favorite apparel or accessory you love to design?

Nothing in particular, but I enjoy making body-flattering garments like corsets, which have become a trademark of who I am and what my brand is.

As an internationally known designer, how has your heritage influence your work, creatively and professionally?

Yes, because my ancestors are from Rajasthan, I come from a background rich in culture and traditions, and everything is filled with serene beauty and colors that influence the designs. As a result, I believe my culture has had a significant impact on where I am and who I have become.

Your list of accomplishments is outstanding. What are your favorite achievements to date?

I've achieved many milestones, and I've done around 350 Bollywood movies, worked with a few Bollywood actresses, and been a part of fashion shows all over the world. For me, each one is as valuable as the last. I still believe there is so much more out there in the world that I could accomplish and am constantly pursuing more.

If you can design for anyone in the world right now, who would that be and why?

Juliana Roberts because she is my favourite person and an all-time stunner with an infectious smile and a style that has always been down-to-earth but flamboyant.

In your opinion and with your experience, what is considered beautiful or fashionable?

To me, someone who respects and wears an outfit with grace and elegance is beautiful and fashionable.

How do you describe your style of design?

My design style is definitely influenced by old architecture, and you can find signature baroque style influences in all of my collections. I have a hint of gothic in every element and a lot of sensual mysterious things with a European influence.

Where are you based out of at the moment? Do you travel often? If yes, where do you travel to often as a designer?

I am currently in the heart of Mumbai. Yes, I travel a lot in search of inspiration wherever my heart leads me, and after my LA show, the city has a special place in my heart.

What’s next for your fashion house? Any upcoming projects you’d like to share?

My primary goal is to take my brand worldwide, and I am currently working on opening my flagship store, where you will see a more traditional side of me and who I am.

Do you plan to showcase in the US or North America again? If yes, when?

Yes, I would like to show the work again in LA and North America because it was a wonderful experience for me and it has so many opportunities to offer that I am excited about.

Are you working on a new collection at the moment? If yes, can you share some details?

Yes, I'm working on a new collection in which you'll see reflections of my hometown, which is rich in crafts and art, and I'm shaping it in a way that will keep that Indian craft alive and show how grateful I am to my Indian craftsmen and artisans.

As a South Asian celebrity and fashion designer, do you have anything you’d like to share to the world?

Celebrities such as Priyanka Chopra and many others have taken centre stage in the world and people have begun to notice and recognise the true potential of what we have, and the world is watching us to see what we can come up with next, and we are ready for it.
